Despite being ruled out of the second test against South Africa, Bangladesh’s selectors have named hard hitting opener Tamim Iqbal in the squad for the upcoming ODI series. All rounder Nasir Hossain & wicket keeper Liton Kumar Das also returns in the 50-over format after a long period of time. The main surprise was the inclusion of pacer Mohammad Saifuddin, who’d previously only played for the tigers in the T-20 format against Sri Lanka.
Suffering from an injury sustained in the warm-up match prior to the first test, Tamim was diagnosed with a grade 1 tear in his right thigh muscle. After aggravating the injury by taking part in the previous match, Tamim now faces a race against the clock to be fit in time for the ODIs that start from 15th October.
