Taking a ten-wicket haul for the third time in his test career, South African pacer Kagiso Rabada has jumped to third in ICC test bowler rankings (876 points) confirmed today. The young pacer, who’s taking the International arena by storm & already being compared to Protea legend Makhaya Ntini, is now only bettered by English pacer James Anderson (896 points) & Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja (884 points).
Unlike the bowler rankings, there were no changes in top 5 test batsmen with Australian skipper Steve Smith (936 points) leading the way & the likes of Joe Root, Kane Williamson following suit. Bangladesh’s Shakib Al Hasan (437 points) retains his no. 1 spot for the all-rounders. Jadeja is the second best in this criteria with 429 points.
India (125 points) retain top spot with South Africa in second place (111 points). A whopping 14-point gap ensures the men in blue will be at the top for quite a while now. Sri Lanka, after becoming the first side to beat Pakistan in a test series at the UAE, leap frogs their sub continental rivals on 6th place with 94 points.
