The ICC World Cup, set to commence in 2019, has already started its qualifying stage for the associate nations long ago. With the likes of Hong Kong, Netherlands featuring, the qualifying stage’s penultimate round will take place next year.
With the ICC World Cricket League Championship also in full swing, Netherlands & Papua New Guinea have sealed their spots in the qualifiers next year. For this, Hong Kong deserves thanks because both of those sides qualified as a result of Hong Kong’s win over Nepal in round six.
There are still two positions up for grabs where Hong Kong will face Scotland and Kenya in the seventh and final round for the event which will be held in Zimbabwe in March 2018.
