While a new team by the name of Sylhet Sixers were added to Bangladesh Premier League 2017, a familiar name won’t be participating in this year’s edition. The Barisal Bulls, having finished last in the previous edition, have been ousted by the governing body for not paying the tournament fees.
Governing council Chairman Afzalur Rahman Sinha , “At a meetng today, we decided that Barisal Bulls won’t be participating in BPL 2017 as they didn’t meet the financial terms and conditions”.
The franchise was co-owned by Axiom Technologies and BCB Director M A Awwal Chowdhury. It’s been reported that one of the owners were against the idea of running the team this year due to their financial limitations.
